You may want to sew a tight zigzag stitch around the raw edge of the patch, or use another edge stitch, by machine or by hand, for extra durability (and decoration).\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can also draw the motif before ironing. The paper is transparent, so you can trace figures, shapes, and letters, for example. But don't forget they need to be mirror images! \u003cbr\u003eIf you draw first, it's still a good idea to iron a larger piece than just the motif itself, so that when you cut out the patch, you cut through a layer of adhesive\/paper, thus getting the adhesive all the way to the edges of the fabric so it adheres better. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe panda patches in the picture are made using this technique. They are motifs from bedding. Here, you just cut along the motif!
