Maria Waag is an artist and illustrator living and working across Oslo and Milan. She is fascinated by our rich, yet disappearing biodiversity and is drawn to seeking beauty in common species we might take for granted, ones we already love, or highlighting unusual and unknown ones. She uses her expertise as a biologist and diver when working on a piece, and the process often involves deep studies of the species, building a relationship with them as she works.
