These workshops, or customized ones, can also be booked for companies, friend groups, or others. Most are suitable for 8 participants, but please contact us if you have special requests or needs, and we will see what we can arrange.

Each course includes a suitable material package for completing the course, and participants get to keep the equipment afterward.

DIGITAL WORKSHOPS

If you cannot attend on the day, you will receive access to the recording afterward. The workshops are divided so each session is 1 hour long.

After the webinars are completed, a version where participants' input is edited out will be made available to all who purchase product packages in the future so that they can start repairing. If you are relatively new, I recommend following the sequence as laid out on the product page for the packages; it is set up as a course series with a lecture first, then basics on materials and aids and some practical stitches to know, then darning, then sashiko which is also a way of patching, and finally embroidery which can be used to decorate darning and patching.

We conclude with the "Mend for Palestine" set, where the proceeds go to Gaza, and use several of the techniques from the other workshops and learn some new ones too.

The webinar costs no extra, and you get a discount when purchasing multiple kits, either different ones, or several of the same if you, for example, want to do it as an activity with friends.

LECTURES

VISIBLE MENDING - Philosophy and Practice

This lecture is about Eva's journey into the world of mending in parallel with her quitting her job in fast fashion, starting to work for the ethical startup Fair & Square as a designer and pattern maker, and hitting rock bottom.

Participants get an introduction to the connection between production conditions, price, willingness to repair, and how visible mending lays a foundation that can solve problems in many different parts of the textile industry. Eva also discusses how mass production and overconsumption affect our own psyche and how mending can help us discover and fight to preserve what society's economy often does not consider valuable.

VISIBLE MENDING - Back to Nature

The lecture is based on Eva's experiences with 7 years of mending as a meditation practice that she continuously delves deeper into. Eva shares experiences and insights this practice has provided. The lecture covers some of the same topics as "Philosophy and Practice" but focuses less on the other parts of the textile industry and views mending in connection with other creative and artistic practices. The lecture discusses how by submitting to natural processes and collaborating with them instead of fighting them, we can find more peace and joy while learning to live in harmony with the nature we are a part of.
