Sashiko starter kit from Olympus Japan.
Each kit contains fabric with a pattern that washes out, thread, and a needle, enough to make 2 coasters (or patches, a needle book cover, or anything else fun you can think of!).
NB: Do not iron the fabric before washing it, as the print may become permanent!
The patches can be attached to the outside or inside of holes or weak areas, or as they are intended, as coasters.
The instructions in the kit are in Japanese, but they consist of many illustrations you can follow. If you need further assistance, simply send a customer message or contact My Visible Mend on Facebook, and we will be happy to help you!
Sashiko instructions will eventually be available on this website, but it will take some time. Many people have wanted sashiko equipment for a long time, so I am choosing to sell it before I can create instructions in Norwegian.
Search for sashiko on YouTube, and you will find a lot of good help! There are also dedicated sashiko groups on Facebook, for example, and several handicraft associations offer sashiko courses, so check with a handicraft association near you!
