Sashiko needles are specially designed to withstand basting stitches through multiple layers, over long distances. They are extra hard, yet thin, and therefore still suitable for densely woven fabrics. LONG needles are best for very long, straight stitches, while shorter ones are better for curved or shorter straight stitches.
