Kintsugi is the Japanese tradition of repairing with gold, which has largely been the inspiration behind this entire webshop and business. The Dutch company Humade has created new kintsugi repair kits that blend the old aesthetic with new technology to make it quick and easy to use. The kits contain everything you need to repair glass, ceramics, porcelain, and other hard materials.
Once the adhesive and activator are mixed, it starts to harden relatively quickly, so it's best not to prepare more than enough for 1 repair at a time.
A fully repaired object is safe to use for food and beverages but should not be heated above 100 degrees Celsius. Preferably wash by hand, as some detergents can discolour the adhesive, and avoid ovens and microwaves for your repaired products. Feel free to drink hot beverages from repaired cups, but do not pour boiling water onto a repair as this can start to affect the adhesive. It is important to give the repair 48 hours to dry and harden completely, but it does not need to be held together for more than a few minutes.
