In this booklet, I have compiled some of the techniques, thoughts, information, and experiences that are useful when starting to repair clothes.
The booklet covers a little about what and why we should repair, a little about different materials and how this affects repairs, various ways to patch, some ways to darn, reinforcing worn fabrics, securing thread, some practical hand stitches, and a selection of embroidery stitches. Each section has examples of how the techniques can be used and combined for both very discreet repairs and, of course, visible repairs. The last section provides an overview of various tools available for marking textiles and how they can be used to draw and transfer patterns and motifs onto different fabrics.
Much of this information can be found on this webshop's blog and Instagram, and more will come, but if you want the most important information gathered in one physical, analog place, or as a gift for someone for whom this is very new, it is a practical introduction and summary of what I have learned through my own repair work.
Hope you like it!
Regards, Eva :)
