Wax from Prym is not beeswax! It's made from oil. Ugh.
We've wanted to sell locally produced beeswax for waxing thread for a long time, ever since we started, actually, but haven't been able to get a collaboration going with anyone.
To test things out, I've made my own small wax pieces from beeswax bits from BeeOrganic and tested them, and I'm very happy with the result. You can buy them here.
In this kit, you get beeswax in addition to a small material pack to make a cute little drawstring pouch to store it in, with a bumblebee embroidery. This product was developed during a "mental health break" from regular daily operations; it's a result of play, of embroidering in the forest, and simply a desire to create something sweet that makes me happy.
We are working on finding someone to make beeswax pieces for us to purchase. Until then, we are making these ourselves. I hope more people will enjoy the kit.
The kit includes:
- 4 m Olympus embroidery floss
- Embroidery needle
- Cotton fabric 10 x 10 cm plus 11 x 20 cm
- Beeswax (circle, star, or heart, random selection)
- Water-soluble template for 4 bumblebee embroideries
- Embroidery instructions
- Instructions for sewing the drawstring pouch.
- Finished drawstring pouch measures approx. 8 x 10 cm
