We will likely purchase more later, but the price will increase due to shipping and other logistical costs, and we do not know how often we will have the opportunity to stock it.
Our founder, Eva Kittelsen, is in Japan to learn more about Sashiko. She is currently in Takayama, in the Hida region, the origin of Hida-Sashiko. On this occasion, you can now purchase a limited edition indigo-dyed cotton with a pre-printed design that washes out. If you are sewing something with Sashiko, sew the fabric first, then cut out the pattern pieces and sew them together. Whether you are making runners, clothes, or hair ties, for example.
The fabric can also be used for Sashiko mending.
The indigo color will change over time with use but will not bleed onto the thread you sew with during washing. If it sells out, please write to eva@myvisiblemend.no with your pattern request by Saturday evening, November 23, 2024, so we can try to purchase more.
