Sashiko needles are specially designed to withstand basting through multiple layers, over longer stretches. They are extra hard, yet thin, and therefore still suitable for tightly woven fabrics. LONG needles are best for very long, straight stitches, while shorter ones are better for curved or shorter straight stitches.
