Kogin is a type of embroidery resembling Norwegian counted thread or darning embroidery. Geometric patterns are created by covering areas of fabric with horizontal stitches, counting threads in loosely woven fabric, and building up the pattern row by row.

Learn more about what it is and how to do it here.

With these kits, you can make a purse with a metal clasp. Use it to organize sewing supplies or other small items, to carry them around, or as permanent storage at home.

The kit contains Olympus Kogin thread, color 731, Olympus No. 3500 linen fabric, transparent fabric (vinyl chloride), lining fabric (surface 100% polyurethane, base fabric 100% cotton), metal clasp, kogin needle, instructions with patterns and illustrations.

Finished size: Approximately 4.8cm (height) x 8.8cm (width)

Additional materials you will need: regular sewing thread, scissors, toothpick, craft glue, double-sided tape, tailor's chalk or similar, marker or pen

NOTE! The included instructions are in Japanese. They largely consist of illustrations, but if you have never sewn before, it might be a bit difficult to interpret them. Many smartphones have translators that you can use by taking a picture of the text, so that's one way to make the instructions easier to interpret.
