Practical for those who find it tiresome/difficult to thread a needle.
The easiest method (that I know of) to thread a needle without a needle threader is to hold the needle in your dominant hand, then fold the thread over the needle while holding the thread between your thumb and middle finger of your other hand. Pull the needle up a little so that the thread becomes taut over it, and squeeze the top of this loop between your two fingers while pulling the needle away. Do not let go of the thread! The sharp fold you have now made in the thread is what you insert into the eye of the needle. By folding the thread, you prevent threads that are spun together from separating, which they often do when you try to thread the tip.
