Now you can do sashiko with multi-colored thread with metallic thread spun in!
Experiment with metallic sashiko thread for extra decorative stitching!
I also recommend using beeswax when sewing with this, it helps the metallic part slide through the fabric more easily without breaking. When sewing with this, you should expect a little more waste than with regular thread; the last 2-5 cm of each length you use will probably have to be cut off because the threads separate a bit as you sew.
I also recommend primarily using these decoratively and not in areas exposed to much friction, like jean knees, to prevent the metallic thread from wearing through.
It works well as decorative and reinforcing elements on clothes and interiors that are not exposed to such extreme wear as knees and elbows.
One skein is approximately 40 meters long.
