A lovely little embroidery book with patterns and instructions for floral embroidery based on the seasons. Dandelions, grass, bees, poppies, small birds, trees from all seasons, violets, thistles, butterflies, straw and grasshoppers, autumn leaves and mushrooms, ants, snails, and even a bit of moss – this book has it all!

Floral embroidery is something many enjoy using for repairs, to cover tears, stains, or small holes, or simply to embellish and upgrade a garment or other textiles. If you love to embroider but want some help and inspiration for more varied nature motifs, this book is perfect.

The first section features pictures of finished embroideries, followed by some general guidance on embroidery, explanations of different stitch types and how they can be varied, and then line drawings indicating which stitches are used where, thread thickness, and DMC color codes (so you can get exactly the same colors with the embroidery threads in this webshop!)

There are several ways to transfer the motifs. You can copy them with a copier (or scan and print) and use carbon paper, or you can use Soluvlies and draw over the motifs before stretching them in a hoop with the fabric you want to sew on, or Solufix which you can stick on. These wash away!

The author is from Japan, where the flora is strikingly similar to what we have in Norway, so here you will be able to find many of your own favorites from forests and fields.

The book is 94 pages, packed with beautiful motifs you can transfer to your textiles :)
