Embroidery thread for decorating and repairing clothes. The rayon thread is of high quality, colorfast, durable, and Oeko-Tex certified. Satin Rayon threads are the shiniest and smoothest of DMC's embroidery threads. Rayon is often called "artificial silk" and looks and behaves very similarly, without being polyester.
For embroidery and repairing clothes with embroidery thread, I recommend cutting off the desired length and then splitting the thread so the thickness matches what you are repairing. If you use very thick thread on a thin fabric, you risk creating holes and wear at the transition between the embroidery/repair and the rest of the garment. The embroidery thread consists of 6 strands twisted together into one thick thread. You can therefore use anywhere from 1 to 6 strands for what you are sewing. For wool underwear, 2 strands are often quite suitable.
Choose the number from the drop-down menu; the numbers for the colors can be seen at the bottom under the barcode on each skein in the picture (a bundle of thread like this is called a skein). The numbers in the menu are in the same order as the pictures.
This thread is very smooth, so it might be beneficial to iron on fusible interfacing on the back after the embroidery is finished to help secure the threads.
