Embroidery thread (DMC Cotton Embroidery floss, Mouliné color variations) for decorating and repairing clothes. The embroidery thread is of high quality, colorfast, durable, and Oeko-Tex certified. The color variations threads have more subtle variations than, for example, multi or variegated, and provide a subtle and elegant variation to the embroidery or repair.
For embroidery and repair of clothes with embroidery floss, I recommend cutting the desired length and then splitting the thread so that its thickness matches what you are repairing. If you use very thick thread on a thin fabric, you risk creating holes and wear at the transition between the embroidery/repair and the rest of the garment. The embroidery floss consists of 6 strands twisted together into a thick thread. You can thus use anywhere from 1 to 6 strands for what you are sewing. For wool underwear, 2 strands are often quite suitable.
